Screenshots from 23 Years Ago: April/May 2001
In April 2001 the original version of the Midway mod was released: " In the course of the second world war although many Americans did expect Japanese landings on the west coast, and at the very least, Japanese bombing of the west coast cities, there never was a "Battle of America" as...

The Gen opened up - the public board was now visible to all net users. A number of private working groups were created to assist modders working on the various new theatres including China, Eastern Front, Korea, Midway, Carrier Air War etc. The intention to funnel the energies involved in EAW and co...

Moggy's Log April 2024
I have got some stuff done this month, between migraine bouts (swear by immigran!). Started by continuing with the scenarios in the Italy/Balkan/Ukraine setup by looking at a theatre/planes setup for the "Transylvanian Crisis" of August 1940. This was a brief spat started by Hungary, which...

Wing Commander John Bell, last aircrew of the wartime 617 ‘Dambuster’ Squadron
At 6ft 4in, Bell was thought too tall to be a pilot, so he was trained as an observer and then as a bomb aimer destined for Bomber Command. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/obituaries/2024/03/21/TELEMMGLPICT000371319734_17110398387760_trans_NvBQzQNjv4BqmAeoF98xn-vZkJzeceE1GPUJhikvKyMIPuzJtdmv...

Re: Battle of Britain campaign issue
I'm running 1.28 and having an issue with the Battle of Britain campaign as the Luftwaffe. On missions the RAF aircraft always chase the Luftwaffe all the way back to their airfields in France. Needless to say this is hardly accurate, highly annoying and it's impossible to continue the campaign as ...

Re: Campaign problems
Thanks Ray, I will have a go at putting together a new planeset for the default careers. Now, SPAW. How best to put together a setup that will run SPAW careers - I note Jel's post above about the carrier deck height problem. Which exe is best to use? And sorry to ask the question again but as there ...

Re: Campaign problems
Default campaigns and Spain will run in the new campaign setup. Haven't tried it with SPAW yet.
I have it in mind to put a post re the new campaign setup in the "Instruction Manual" section.
Do we, by the way, have a more recent planeset for the default careers?

Re: Campaign problems
Thanks Jel. I have been looking at the various Finland setups today, and came to much the same conclusion. The 128E setup is definitive for the Finland careers, and I agree the complex setup with multiple front lines controlled by a separate manager is unsuited for 1.6. Of course the Finland map is ...

Re: Campaign problems
Thanks Jel. I think it's a good thing to have an installation that runs pilot careers properly.
Can we have the SPAW careers and the default/Spain/Finland/DAW careers in the same setup albeit with separate exes?

Re: Campaign problems
Thanks Jel. I did need to apply alt-G, but otherwise seems to be working.
I'm going to try it with the other career mods Spain, Finland and SPAW.
