Functioning kamakaze?
In the first CAW slot list the kamakaze was assigned to the V1 slot. However, Flyright has done much research into a functioning kamakaze and determined that it can only work in another aircraft slot because EAW always returns to the deafult V1 FM in that slot. He has produced an FM which causes the...

US Squads in the CAW 1944 theatre
There seems to be a lot of information about the US squads, but not all of it isconsistent. The main fleet ("fast") carriers held a CVG - a carrier air group consisting of fighter, torpedo and dive bombing squadrons - hence CVG 2 contained VF-2, VB-2, and VT-2. These did an approximate 6 month tour ...

Japanese Squads in the CAW 1944 theatre
To enable the campaign builders to work, we need information particularly on the Japanese squads of the Armyand Navy Air force in the CAW 1944 theatre. I have this list so far: Imperial Japanese Navy Air Force See the notes on IJN units of organisation here (1) Carrier Squads 601st kokutai Carrier D...

Setting up a front end manager to swap requirements for campaigns on one or other side its not particularly difficult, and would indeed be one way round that particular problem. And indeed if theplayer is making front end choices in that way, the theatre could be set up with whatever objects were re...

Pobs correctly points out that if we have US land based aircraft we must have US ground objects which the Tmod list does not provide for. So I suggest we reuse those vacant British aircraft with alternative US carrier squads. Perhaps including one of the light carrier or escort carrier based squads?

I think the answer is that originally in CAW we were very much thinking of US carrier forces either battling with Japanese carrier forces, or hitting Japanese occupied islands, and in that scenario all the ground targets with the exception of US Naval elements, would in fact all be Japanese, and cle...

Structure of CAW 1944 campaigns
The main problem which seems to confront us in the construction of the campaigns for CAW 1944 is restricting the available targets to those actually relevant to the campaign. We can easily specify the bases from which our campaign squads are operating, but not easily the enemy objects of their atten...

To Kurt - CAW aircraft slots for 1944
In the original CAW slot list we included aircraft for the 1945 British Pacific Fleet. These were Fleet Air Arm versions of the Avenger, Firefly, Seafire, Wildcat, Hellcat and Corsair in the British slots. Clearly we don't need these aircraft for the first 1944 part of CAW. How shall we handle this?...

Hello Pobs, Guessed you'd still be with SAW for a few weeks more. We have the map for CAW 1944 as below ... http://www.mogggy.org/pictures/caw1944.jpg Neira and VonOben have done the tile layout and topography (eaw.tm, eaw.hm and the terrain tiles) for this map. I'm about to set about the target loc...
