Excellent news Kurt. I think you're right about staying with lo-res for the moment. Amongst the squads I thought we might start to pencil in are: VF-15 "Fiughting Aces" on the fleet carrier Essex The highest scorers Saipan through to Leyte Gulf (Hellcats) VF-31 "Flying Meataxes" on the light carrier...

Vertcon3 on the way pobs. I won't put the 3d carriers in just yet, because I don't know what the position is on the "long leg" FM adjustment for all the aircraft involved in the addon. Anyone able to comment on that? Also, any idea when you might be able to move on to the Japanese Fleet and light ca...

Hello Kurt, Yes got all that stuff which was very useful and enabled me to put in more bases and towns. I did reply but I seem to have very bad luck with your email address - either I get bounced right away or I've no guaratee that the message has actually arrived. As you can see from the latest new...

Sorted out the apparent multinational problem, that was a glitch in the temporary frontline. I now seem to have virtually all of the bases visible, and am visiting them one by one doing a first cleanup. Proper layout in tardata.dat will come later. First object is to get a world in the planes can ta...

Virtually all of the locations seem to have gone in okay, and it's the tidying up and fine adjustment at the moment, the bases which refuse to activate, the ones on the wrong side of the temporary frontline, the ones which seem to think they have dual nationality, and the ones which didn't quite mak...

I'm currently working on the world files. First rough versions of targets.dat, airfield.dat and griddata.dat are done, now polishing carrier airfield and seaplane base placeholders. Something to look at and experiment with soon.

We can get a pilot career from the CVEs in fact - I See that USS Kalinin Bay CVE 68 with composite squadron VC-3 was escort for the landing forces at Saipan/Tinian, Guam, Palau/Peleiu and part of Taffy III in the thick of the Samar action at Leyte Gulf. Just got to put a few more Escort carrier posi...

Wildcats on the Taffys
Thinking about the escort carriers in the action off Samar with the Japanese Central force during the Battle of Leyte Gulf. We won't be able to make a career for those squads, which still used the late mark Gruman FAFs, but I intend to make one carrier in each of three "Taffys" an active base so tha...
