Thanks for that Woody. I know the P38 has contra-rotating props, and the game makes provision for them. I'm less sure about other aircraft. I'm fairly sure than on the Lancaster for example, all props turn the same way, ditto the Mosquito. The "Sally-B" will be doing the British air shows so I'll al...

Flyright has been heavily experimenting with this, and I'll see what the possibilities are once life is a little less hectic.

Thanks for those Woody. I've asked Kurt if he can magic up a hi-res B17 skin like the one in the John Ford "Midway" footage, but he is occupied at the moment with Zeros, so hopefully we'll see that in due course.

Good stuff. The "light panels" on the Dauntless models are interesting - it was from another PAW model, the Wildcat that I first got the "luminous" colours to make i.e. the navigation lights. I'm hoping Kurt can do a skin similar to that shown on the Midway sequence. Good to hear that speeds are mor...

Double check you got the right file from FTP Woody - "MidwayB17E-hires-beta-2.zip" this should replace all existing B17 model and skin files, cockpit, flight model, and Midway.exe files. Using them it should be be impossible to start all four engines at once! The speed problem I haven't yet tackled...

Welcome Edward

Edward has just joined the Midway group - welcome to him!

Edward - in hand at the moment is the flight testing of the new hi-res B17, as you'll see from the various posts. Also you can take up Kurt's new airgroups for the US carriers and let us have any comments.

A number of people have tried to convert EAW 3dz between the more common 3d modelling formats, but I don't think anyone got good results. Might be worth raising it at SimHQ. At the moment we have Allessandro's 3DZ studio, a mammoth achievement in its time, and Gurney (I think) has been long time wor...

Yikes - sounds horrendous. I wish the best of luck in sorting it out. Basically 3dz file are only editable in EAW's own 3dz studio, it being a propritary format of Microprose as was. I'm still hovering around updating the W98SE. Enough computer problems at the moment without creating a whole host mo...

New MidwayB17 - separate right and left wing prop control

I have now managed to get separate right and left wing prop control in the new hires B17, in both external view and internal cockpit view. In the external view I did by arranging matters in the exe so that the B17 could use more of the spare transparency channels from the unused Bf110 slots. The B17...

Hello Edward, As you can see from the list, Dean has the remit for the CAW screens, but its always nice to let players have a choice. There will be a lot of stuff to do presently, so stay tuned, and then we'll probably have more jobs than people Nice screenie. CAW is definitely looking good already!
