Re: Moggy's Log - September 2023
I have a mixed squadron of B-24's in the Aircraft Inventory, which it looks like you have. I also have: 1 - European B24D's and B-24J's, non-multiskined. 2 - Desert B24D's multi-skinned. 3 - SPAW PB4Y-1 and -2 non-multiskinned. The 3dz models on all of them have been upgraded with rounder edges and ...

Re: Updated aircraft-Romanian IAR79
As with most of my models this was an upgrade to the original lo-res one with rounder wheels, engine nacels, wing tips and rudder. Also fixed a bunch of mapping errors, added waist guns and radio antenna. The little touches like this really make a difference. FWIW, I was a little dubious about the c...

Re: Ah ... the German attack on Pearl Harbour :)
Well, considering the dreadful education the kids are getting these days, most of 'em wouldn't bat an eye over such an egregious mistake. FWIW, I watch a fair number of aircraft "documentaries" on YOUTUBE. I especially like the ones having to do with the lesser known planes, like the Maryl...

Yes, Jel added it for me a couple of years ago.

Also, in 1.6 ALT / E starts and stops all engines at the same time. Mostly used for the contra-prop planes where there are two props on one axis but can be used just as well for all multiengine planes on take offs.

Re: Fine Tuning UAW 1.6 - those mpf files and presence files
I couldn't find anything in my files but a quick search here turned up a couple of thread with some info.
It will be a great service to the community if you can put it all together.

Re: Fine Tuning UAW 1.6 - those mpf files and presence files
Pretty sure we had this conversation and the pertinent info was added. Not sure where, either SimHQ or here, so it might be as easy as doing a search for earlier posts.
Meanwhile I'll look around my files and see if I have a copy.

Ok, but what are the text parameters that need to be in the files?

Re: How to download, setup and run EAW 1.6
I'm about 90% through upgrading the Mediterranean planes to go along with this scenario. I'm adding individual plane markings, nose art and ID's, converting some planes to hi-res and others getting the enhanced lo-res treatment. Some new hangar screens too. Also, some flight model fixes, loadout cha...

Na, don't bother. It's a dead end project.
Did you come across the Albemarle model in your search?

Re: Glider for the Eastern Front
Hmmm, any chance there's ANOTHER glider discussion? 'cuz I'm hardly a part of this one. I mean, I built a working TMOD of the Albemarle with working transparent props which doesn't show up in screenshots. Plus, Woody and I had some long discussions about the limits EAW has in regard to mission succe...

Re: Glider for the Eastern Front
Don't know if you recall but Woody and I worked out a pretty good glider scenario about 10-15 years ago. I made a TMOD from an Armstrong Albemarle with a long cable out the back and designated it as a rocket in the loadout. You flew the combination from the Horsa Glider cockpit and when ready hit th...

Re: Setting up aircraft carrier bases
I don't know if it helps but in ETO2015 there is a target in northern Italy that is very close to the edge of the map.

Re: Setting up aircraft carrier bases
Oy, can you believe it's been close to a decade since I set up SPAW final cut????! Lot's I've forotten but I do know you don't need a land tile so you can put the carrier anywhere you want. I seem to recall airfield six is the invisible one that is elevated but I can't be sure. Maybe the best thing ...
