A little help please

Post by Col. Gibbon »

Hi Guys.

I've just been trying to get a new install of EAW working on my XP machine.

I have a very pixelated sky, terrain, and prop tra's. I've tried several d3d.dll's, and no luck. Any suggestions?

Hello,

The most important item in your description of your problem is missing !
Wich driver you use . .?
In the past I used some Nvidia drivers with no 7217 error .. but with a game in D3D rendering completely pixalised :)

Regards.

Hello,

Are you sure all settings (graphics properties) are good set in game and graphic card properties ?(I suppose it is)

Would you please try this one:(he work for almost all ppl's I give)

78.03 TweakRuss Xtreme-G (good driver!)

http://rapidshare.com/files/62470099/XT ... 2.rar.html

Your is to more recent !! 93.71 !!!! no good
Have the same prob as your with this driver !!

Or check the Nvidia site for the archive of legacy drivers !

Or check again in the URL I send you some days ago for test other drivers.

I'm sure one driver will be good.

I never used the card you have.

Was using TNT2 when I jump to the GF serie.

Regards.

All working as it should be.

I'm now woundering why The game ran, without 7217, if those drivers were too new?

Anyway thanks Gus. :)

Hi,

Yes they are too new but not yet enough for give you the 7217 :)
Try some upper if you want to screw the game :) :)
The 78.03 is the last driver set who give me no problems at all.
All the drivers over this number give me some problems .....
BTW some new cards (6.XXX - 7.XXX) are able to use this set of drivers.. but the set not offer all the settings allowed by those new cards.(AA limitation ..etc...)
A solution of no ppl's think is to use the tool Nhancer for tweak their card .. over the pos offered by the legacy driver....

Regards.

I was using the last Nvidia drivers for Win98se, 81.98 without any issues, and that high in XP drivers would give me 7217?

Hello,

Yes ...it's just there the difference .. you writed it yourself :)
Win98 is NOT WinXP ... so maybe drivers will have same numbers ...but that's all .... !

Still having a problem. :(

I go to Ctrl - F12 to get a free camera, and after a few seconds of panning around I get a CTD. I've got the same problem even with a clean 1.2 install, no mods. :?
