SimHQ offline due to Hurricane Ike (back online now)

Post by RAF_Roy »

SimHQ.com confirmed offline.. server is located in outage area in Houston, Texas, US

My Blog has some more details: http://royspace.awardspace.com/

All info and comments IMO only..

I've lived in Houston (not there now thankfully) and can tell you it is probaly due to the flooding of low level areas in downtown, certain streets just get localized pools of water, and likely they shutdown network links to avoid shorts, etc.
The city right now is under emergency, (although the hurricane has now moved out of the area) so they will just have to wait until the situation stabilizes and stuff gets put back online in a priority basis..
I'm sure it will be back online once the city calms down a bit...

Roy out.

Can't live without our SimHQ hit.

Luckily, you CAN live with an IKE hit.
Wonder if the Germans felt like that, sometimes.

(I was born up in the Texas panhandle, near Lubbock. Lots of lightning and tornadoes. I got outta there fast--before I was a year old. :D )

Can't get SimHQ from Oz at the moment- I guess it will be up and down like a yo-yo for a while.
