Yildirim Abteilungen

Formed in Germany in July 1917 for service with the Ottomans,as part of the Asienkorps. Operational November 1917.

Arrived in Palestine in March 1918.Renamed Jasta 1 of Heeresgruppe (Army Group) F,

On Oct. 5. 1918 all FA's (except 305 at Hama) moved to Muslimije. On the next day the remnamts of FA 300 and 304b where combined to "FA Fleischfresser" and the remnants of FA 301 and 302 to "FA Begoulin".

40 delivered between September and October 1917 resulting in 6 and 4 reserves for FA301, FA302, FA303, and FA304(b).

8 delivered March 1918 to supply JASTA 2, 6 later modified to D.Va’s.

4 delivered April 1918 of which 3 went to FA304(b), and 1 to FA303.

LVG C.V

1918 - 8 in total delivered, replacement Serial 7609/17

8 delivered April 1918 of which 2 went to each FA301, FA302, FA303, and FA304(b).

PFALZ D.III

1918 - 12 in total delivered, replacement Serial 1358/18

12 delivered August 1918 as replacements for Albatros with JASTA 1

DFW C.V

1918 - 28 in total delivered, replacement Serial 4480/18

28 delivered August 1918 as replacements for AEG with Palestine units although most never were issued from Rayak.

TOTAL - 155 aircraft delivered to German units in Palestine.


Mesopotamia


In December 1915, the 2nd Aircraft Squadron, consisting of 9 aircrafts and 11 personnel under the command of the German Captain Franz von Aulock, was deployed to Baghdad, where it would be under the command of the Turkish XVIII Corps, and new airfields were installed, first at Aziziye and then at Kut.
