Jon's HP100 as the start of a better knock-off for the Valentia. Essential shape of the plane is similar, have to lose the nose gun position, make wings of equal length, and make the body less slim.

Re: Valentia
Never came across that model.
How's the R/S?
If it's bad, take a look at how I fixed the bi-planes in the Mediterranean aircraft inventory.
If you need help let me know.

Re: Valentia
I think this is one of the last models Jon built from scratch, so in theory the r/s ought to be spot on. So hopefully I can get away with the essentially cosmetic changes that will make it resemble the Valentia.

Re: Valentia
Yeah, don't be too sure about that.
I hope I'm wrong on this one but from experience John's models are at most about 95% compliant. Can't tell you how many things I've had to fix to get his models to an acceptable level.
Why doesn't anyone know about this?
'cuz I just fix them and move on without making a big deal about it.
Again, don't hesitate if you want some help.

Re: Valentia
May need your skill on "round things" to get that nose looking right.

Ok, get it as close as you can and then send it over.

Re: Valentia
Looks pretty good.
FWIW, if that model has a fully functional R/S I will eat my words.

Re: Valentia
It's not bad. There does seem to be the odd small glitch, but frankly it's damn sight better than nothing, and it is, finally, the last plane required for the theatre. Only taken 16 years!
Once I'm done I will send it over so you can have a look and do anything that occurs to you.

Re: Valentia
Looking good with one comment.
From the shots posted the lower nose needs to be rounded a wee bit. It looks like the lower left chin has a zit. The upper section and cockpit look very good to me. All in all, this is a very good looking project.

If all else fails, punt. Or, RUN AWAY!!!

Re: Valentia
Thanks Mike. I am going to let our resident expert on rounding things (Ray) have a go at this when I've got it somewhat nearer to how I want it.
Quite pleased so far.
Just realised this morning that I need to put underwing hardpoints for the bomb racks.

Re: Valentia
Trying to trace the origin of the HPO-400 model makes me think that it may not be Jon's, but done by Flyright.
