Albert Howard, navigator who helped to attack German ships in the Mediterranean

Albert Howard, who has died aged 101, was a navigator flying in Beaufighter strike aircraft in the Eastern Mediterranean and then during the Burma campaign.

He was awarded the DFC following his service in Burma for ‘action above and beyond the call of duty’
