EAW128c and frmation.dat

Post by Moggy »

Apologies to Lolo, this thread appears to have got lost in the Crosswinds crash and various restorations.

You were asking about tools to edit frmation.dat

Mr.Jelly made such a tool in 2009, I have version 5, but no instructions on how to use other than this exchange I had with him also in 2008, which relates to an earlier version of the editor:
Jel, any further instructions to go with the formations editor? Once I put in "0" and load the frmations.dat file, how do I go about editing??
Drag the mouse over the radio buttons 1-15 to find the one you want to edit and select it.

You can change the number and the three offsets but not the type.
Select the type(s) with the checkboxes, pick a style from the "Line Astern" etc radio buttons and then your choices of the "One lead" etc checkboxes.
Then click "Insert the total". The number(s) in the Type boxes should change
Then click "Edit the selected formation".
This edits the file you have loaded.

I just noticed that if you put the mouse over the Type textboxes the Line Astern" etc radiobuttons and the "One lead" etc checkboxes change to show you what that number represents.

Thats interesting!
