I have uploaded a complete "Provisional" set of WWI planes to the server for testing.

I made many small changes to a lot of the 3dz models so the old ones should be removed.

I think the FM's are close, still not sure about the damage points, but that can be cleared up with some testing.

Again, these are provisional as I haven't done any work on the loadouts and the engine sounds.

As for the loadouts, be aware the bombers will have bombs loaded by default. You'll have to jettison them before testing for altitude and top speed if you don't ground start. if you do ground start to can deselect the loadout on the arming board.

I'd appreciate as much feed back as possible from whomever wishes to get involved with the testing.

Criticism WILL be tolerated.

One thing I forgot to mention.

The Zeppin FM is not cooperating. Pretty hard to fly something at 45MPH in a flight sim originally set up for planes doing 350MPH.

I have a couple of ideas but I didn't include it in this set of files.

I have an idea for the zeppelin, which could be implemented depending on several factors such as the type of engines, weather conditions, operational range, and payload. Based on these variables, its speed could range from approximately 75–80 km/h up to 100 km/h.

It would also be worth considering an increase in its defensive armament. Historically, zeppelins typically carried between 4 and 10 machine guns for defensive purposes, distributed across gondolas and observation posts to provide coverage from all directions.

The exact layout varied by model, but the most basic configuration was as follows:
  • Forward and rear gondolas: to cover frontal and rear attacks.
Upper and side turrets: to defend against fighters attacking from above or from the flanks.
Top-mounted positions: used on some models, accessible via internal ladders, providing an elevated field of view and fire.

Also:

The spy basket, or Spähkorb, also called a sub-cloud car, was a small observation gondola that German Zeppelins of World War I could lower from the clouds by cable. It allowed a crew member to observe the terrain and guide the airship without exposing it to enemy view.

Armament, max ceiling, max range, turning circle and all other flight characteristics are not a problem.

The problem is getting the damn thing to fly at 45-60 MPH in a flight sim originally meant to fly planes at 300-500 MPH.

I have been able to get the speeds down into the 90 MPH range but lower than that things go sideways and I haven't been able to figure out why.

What I might do is use an existing FM from a bomber and set the top speed limit to a very low number or increase the drag numbers A LOT. It's not like it has to have a realistic FM as it's just going to be big, fat, slow moving target.

Of course, I'd have to greatly expand the hit bubbles but that's very easy. Also, there are only six gun positions available in the EAW flight model so there's a limit to what I can do about adding armament.

Yes, it's the best idea, in the end, in the video games I've played, the zeppelin is slow but also sturdy.

Sorry if I'm being a bother, but I have another idea for a German aircraft that's interesting, and you already have the model done: the Fokker E.IV. Depending on the version you get, it has two LMG 08 machine guns; that's the most common version, but there was also another one with three LMG 08 machine guns.

Fokker E.III: 80hp engine, one machine gun 7.92mm LMG 08/15 "Spandau".
Fokker E.IV: 100hp engine, two or three machine guns 7.92mm LMG 08/15 "Spandau", with a more complex synchronization system that was simplified in production.
