1.28C Overheating Parameters

Post by Lolo Kramp »

Hello everybody

I'm using an old FM for a specific Japanese plane (from ECAPANEL, 1.2 compatible) with 1.28C exe.

In the same Planeset I also use new FM for other planes slots (Rp2.6, 1,28C compatible).

The problem is the old FM tend to overheat very rapidly. I know there is a general parameter for using old FM, but here as I mixed both old and new, I cant use it. So I was thinking on how about to change the overheating behavior for the specific old model plane. I searched in the Flt file and Plane.date file docs, but I found nothing related.

Do you know how to change overheating behavior for a specific slot ?

Hello Lolo,

I have had a look through all my stuff, including the gamecode, and I cannot find any reference to adjusting engine overheating, other then the general ability to exclude it completely in the game setup screen.

Sorry, I posted an answer couple of days ago but it didn't show up.

Anyhow, here's what I found:

An ini setting for 1.28A/C of "OldDamage=0” default setting while a “=1” enables the 1.2 compatible bullet damage calculation and the default EAW1.2 engine overheat model.

That's about it. I don't think there's a way to edit individual slots.

FWIW, I'm going to suggest that players who want to try the new set of WWI planes I've been working on disable the overheat option because it doesn't work properly for those planes.

That may be your only option too.

Thank you very much Moggy and Rotton for your answers.

At least it confirms that I'm not missing any doc or infos around.

I'll do with that and see how to further investigate the topic.
